You're listening to the creative teacher podcast, a show for busy teachers looking for ways to engage, inspire and make an impact in their teacher businesses. I'm Kiersten, a teacher business owner who is all about simple and actionable tips, strategies and resources that result in wins, big or small. If you're looking for that extra spark of creativity, you've come to the right place. Let's dive in together.

Hey, there, I wanted to introduce you to a little thing called the TPT matrix. So we're going to talk about four for TPT attraction strategies. And there's something special about each one. One is high outcome low prep. One is high outcome high prep. One is low outcome, low prep, and one is low outcome high prep. Now this is just based on my experience, but you may agree or you might get some great tips out of it. So I want to share with you a little bit about this Facebook attraction strategy matrix that can help you. So there's four attraction strategies we're going to talk about, and I'll let you know where they land on the matrix. Marketing on Teachers Pay Teachers is so beneficial, because you can have them do most of the heavy lifting for you. TPT is used by millions of teachers worldwide and is one of the top marketplaces for educators.

So these four attraction strategies again, are divided into four sections, low prep, high prep, high output, and low output. The prep time is how much effort it may take on your end. And the outcome is the results that may happen. So it could be more sales, it could be more views. And you know, on and on. This is just a general guide and does not indicate that one strategy is better or worse than another. Try some of these strategies and see how it does for your TPT store.

Alright, so let's talk about the first one. High outcome low prep would be your logo, banner and quote box. This is so easy to create. And it's used as your brand items for your storefront. The more welcoming and inviting your store is the longer people may stay and shop. So that is something that's super important is you know, making sure your logo banner and quote box really communicates who you are as a brand. Are you inviting and brighten fun, and you know, we're going to have a great time in class, or is it going to be professional, more, you know, minimalistic, some type of really quirky 70s style with flowers and pastel colors. However you want to do it, make sure you have those brand items featured in your storefront. The outcome can be high because in the few seconds that the people are on your storefront they can connect with you. And they may decide to follow you or not. And you want them if they're the right people if they're your people, you want them to follow you. So it's important to make sure you set a great first impression with your logos banners and quote boxes. This doesn't take too much time, you know low prep thinking, you know maybe a couple hours spending some time on what your logo looks like. Are you going to just have a picture of yourself? Are you going to have you know a few words on your banner Are you going to have people follow you and you have an arrow on your quote box depending on what you want to put in your banner and cold box and logo, it can be low prep.

e first time was in August of:

The third attraction strategy would be resource promotion. And this is low outcome, low prep, just based on my own experiences. Maybe it has worked for others. But remember, no attraction strategy is good, or better or worse than the other. So with resource promotion, it's easy to select resources to promote, you just select the date, set it and forget it, your resource will be featured in that specific category for 24 hours. In order to access the resource promotion section, you would need to go on to your TPT dashboard, and click market marketing. And then from there, you're gonna see the green little calendar with a checkmark saying promote feature your products on TPT. That is where you can easily set it up. You just have to be a little bit knowledgeable of what's available and what's not. Sometimes some spots fill up really fast. Something I've noticed that fills up really fast would be kindergarten first second grade ELA, but if you you know, click around and click on the different categories and see what slots are open, you might be able to find something that is within your niche and could be beneficial. Now out of the five times I've done resource promotions, only one of them was actually successful. And there's a dashboard like it'll show you your promotion activity of you know, the day you scheduled it the products you decided to promote how much it cost and how much income you made for it. So yeah, the other four didn't do so well. Only one has done well. So I'm at a 20% success rate on this. So it is you know, it's kind of like shooting, shooting the dice rolling the dice, but it could end up working in your favor. Maybe some of you guys out there would have better luck than I did.

All right. The last attraction strategy is low outcome but high prep. And it is the note to followers. Again, I love writing emails. But in my experience, it does take a lot of time to have your note to followers crafted. And then the outcome could be you know, it could help me it just depends not everybody reads the inbox on TPT. Crafting a weekly or monthly note to followers that stands out and is not salesy is key to more opens and click throughs. The more you email your audience, the more success you may have with this strategy. Now I will share what has worked for me and what I've noticed in my inbox. I currently have not read all of them but there's like I am that teacher that has the inbox it has 99 Plus next To inbox, so you can kind of tell where I'm going with this. I don't really check my inbox for TPT that often. But when I do notice some emails, and I do click on it, I do notice that the logo captures attention. It's friendly, it's fun, and it's paired with a interesting caption or title. So, here's one, I'm going to, you know, highlight some ones that I see the meaningful teacher, hers is, here's what I have chosen for you, you'll thank yourself later, I promise. So that's something that captured it makes me want to click. Another one is from lessons for learning, say goodbye to the Sunday scaries this year, that's another one. So also ones that stand out to me are ones with emojis in it. So Catherine read the brown bag teacher, somebody I follow. She has a title that says Build Number Sense quickly with a brain and a abacus. So that makes me want to click on it. Something else that I have noticed in newsletters that do stand out, are really just adding graphics, the note to followers has exponentially gotten so much better compared to what it used to be even a year ago. And now we can directly link resources, we can upload graphics easily. It's so much easier to format. So it's like how could you not, you know, utilize the note to followers. So it is a lot of prep, if you want to create graphics that, you know, are huge, really just having it really big can really help instead of the small text that is usually defaulted. Maybe that can make a difference. And that can help in your note to followers at converting. And even better being able to make the graphics, clickable, and you can link it. So that is something that can really be helpful. The factor files I know has email note to follow or templates that can kind of really amp up your email for your followers. what's worked for me, I think the one that's worked for me, I remember, recently, I added when I had my TPT bonus sale, and I had a link to my email list. I did get subscribers I know specifically from Teachers Pay Teachers because it was sent after a certain day and people signed up after that time. So that was really cool to see that. Okay, people do read the email and do click. So it can be beneficial. It just really depends. I wish there was a better way to be able to track you know, if people are looking from the email and clicking on the resource or something like that. I wonder if UTM codes might help with that. But maybe that's something that will be available for us in the future.

All right, so there's my matrix my four TPT attraction strategies for you. Number one would be the logo banner and quote box. Number two apply to be featured. Number three resource promotion. And number four, note to followers. These are great ways to attract your potential customers on TPT so that they can see and have access to the resources that you promote and have on TPT All right, well, that's the end of this episode. I will see you again soon.
