From Flop to Viral: When TPT Resources are Suddenly Trending
Have you ever created a resource for Teachers Pay Teachers (TPT) that you thought was great, only to have it flop? You're listening to the creative teacher podcast, a show for busy teachers looking for ways to engage, inspire and make an impact in their teacher businesses. I'm Kiersten, a teacher business owner who is all about simple and actionable tips, strategies and resources that result in wins, big or small. If you're looking for that extra spark of creativity, you've come to the right place. Let's dive in together.
Hey, there, I wanted to share with you a couple of words of wisdom. Thinking about, you know, staying current and top of mind and relevant and all that good stuff. Everybody tells us we need to do it. We don't want our products to be outdated. We don't want the topics of our products to be outdated. And some questions I get are related to well, if I have a resource already in my store, how can I make that current or relevant? Or can a resource that has been in my store just sitting there be kind of revived so that it's popular and becomes trending among teachers or people who are interested in the resource? In? The answer is yes, I wanted to give you a couple of examples of how that can come into play based on my own experiences with a couple of resources.
ssed away in the last year in: ed this originally, I believe:So my big takeaway from this for you is to not give up hope, if you have a resource that is otherwise just kind of No Man's doing, okay? Or a little stagnant, or maybe not making sales at all, you never know what event or what could happen, where somebody makes it trending, or it just becomes trending. Something that was in common with both of these resources that suddenly went viral was that the covers and the listing and the resource itself was optimized and primed to sell. So it had that viral worthy potential, it just, you know, was doing okay. And it just took a couple of events, a little bit of luck, that amped it up to that next level.
